I just hit the big 4-0.
The only “Happy Birthday” messages I got were automated emails from marketing companies. Pretty funny, right? At this age, you almost forget your own birthday even happened.
But then, I thought—I need something to mark this milestone. Something for me.
So, I did something I’ve never done before. I bought a fragrance.
I chose Acqua di Parma. In Japan, everyone goes for Maison Margiela’s “Lazy Sunday Morning.” It’s the popular choice. But I didn’t want popular. I wanted something that meant something to me.

The most expensive one yet. It cost a fortune, but it grounds me.
The Jasmine notes in this bottle are incredible. It’s a scent that grounds me. It was expensive—damn expensive—but it was my gift to myself for reaching 40.
Now, I wear it when I head out to work. It keeps my mind calm in the middle of the grind.
If you’re looking for a way to reset your soul, I highly recommend finding your own scent.
Happy Birthday to me.
The journey continues.
