I always show up prepared. When I have a meeting or a dinner, I make sure my face and my body are at their absolute best [Image 15]. I respect the person I’m meeting, but more importantly, I respect the man in the mirror.
Today, I had plans for dinner with a younger person. Right before the start time, I got the message: “Not feeling well, can’t make it today.”
The “Old Version” of me would have spiraled. I would’ve sent a flurry of messages. “Are you okay??” “When can we reschedule?” “Let me know when you’re better! ” I was a slave to the response. I was looking for validation.
But the “Reiwa Version” of Quad has been updated. My engine runs on a different frequency now.
My reply: “Let’s reschedule for another day. Take care.”
When they replied later, I didn’t even type. I just hit a reaction button and closed the app. Getting anxious over a text message is a weak mindset—it’s for those who haven’t found their purpose yet. I have 4 jobs to run and a fortress to build for my kids. I don’t have time to wait by the phone.
I took the extra time and invested it in myself. I stopped by a Mac Cafe, grabbed a coffee to fuel my brain, and took a long walk to clear my head.

It turned out to be a great day. I’m moving forward. I’m staying on my mission.
I own my path. I own my time.
Catch you at the finish line.
